Another book review in CASE Newsletter

In the latest CASE Newsletter (Issue 21), mum & I review Just Sex, a book by Guy Brandon. Brandon is a researcher with the Jubilee Centre, a Christian sociological think-tank at Cambridge.

Brief summary: it's a good book, read it. Full review downloadable here.

But don't just download it - become a CASE Associate and get the whole mag! This issue's on "otherness" - what it means to be different. Excellent articles on disability, deafness, theologian Miroslav Volf, and more!

Your criticisms are pretty damning, though. After what you said, I am surprised that you were so positive.

This is the trouble for me: the Jubilee centre is strong on social research but very poor on theology. And that isn't really good enough, true?

Yeah, you're right, Michael. We tried to be positive because, as you say, their social research is very good. So we didn't want the review to sound too harsh. But their theology basically isn't gospel-centred enough. It's almost like they've forgotten about the centrality of Christ's death & resurrection. And that's very worrying.
